Project Description:
Construction of phase three of the five-phase project to build the Bishopbriggs relief road extending from the town's Auchinairn Road to Wester Cleddens Road including construction of a new roundabout at Wester Cleddens Road.
Works Included:
- Site clearance
- Cut and fill exercise of approximately 65000m³ to form embankments along new carriageway route and to form new building platform for future housing
- Placement of approximately 35000t of imported stone
- New filter drains varying diameters from 150mm Dia – 600mm Dia
- Installation of kerbing, road gullies and manholes
- Construction of a new 750 metre section of carriageway and footpath to adoptable standard including asphalt surfacing and road markings
- Utilities diversions. Scottish Power overhead cables had to be relocated underground
- Water main and telecom cabling had to be diverted around the site of new roundabout
- Installation of new road signs, bollards and pedestrian guardrails
- Installation of new road lighting columns and Toucan Crossing
- New post and wire fencing
