Project Description:
Construction of a 500kw run of river small scale hydro with 2 intakes and approximately 3.5 km of buried pipework through agricultural land within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
Works Included:
- Construction of 1.5 km of 3.5m wide floating roads consisting of 300mm deep layered system of geotextile membrane and 6F2 mixed with local recycled stone.
- Widening and upgrade of existing access road
- Excavation of pipe track and reinstatement
- Installation of pipe work:
- 1.7 km 600mm Diameter GRP
- 1.3 km 630mm Diameter HPPE
- 500 m 280mm Diameter HPPE - 2 reinforced concrete intakes
- Reinforced concrete thrust blocks, transition and junction blocks to accommodate the change of pipe diameters.
- Steel framed power house building (9m x 8m) blockwork walls with rendered finish and slate roof
- 40 tonne capacity steel bridge
- Reinstatement of traditional dry stone dyke
